Should the STAG report reflect the view that a new station for Bonnybridge is the best way to meet local transport needs, then Falkirk Council must produce a full business case to submit to Transport Scotland. This will then be considered for support through their dedicated Station Development Funds.
This will only be the beginning. Thereafter, consideration will need to be given to any capital funding. Falkirk Council may also need to invest to help support development of the station, any related infrastructure, design, planning and delivery. This will take some time but the good news is that a site has been been set aside off Reilly Road in High Bonnybridge in the Local Development Plan and station plans produced (these will require an update).
